I was showing some buyers properties in east Fort Lauderdale yesterday.
The Symphony is a beautiful building on the New River. It happens to be huge (over 330 units) so it takes some time to show.
You check in at the guard gate, then leave your car at valet, moving on to check in at the front desk.

I picked up the lockbox from the woman at the front desk, and we headed to see the condo.
We had to go up the stairs, through a long hallway and up the elevator to the twelfth floor. When we got there, I found out that the front desk gave me the wrong lockbox.
I left them in front of the unit, ran back down and got the correct lockbox.
I ran back up and took the key out of the lockbox, only to find that the key didn’t work.

I called the agent who said it should have a key ring on it with the unit number. Nope.
It sounded like someone switched the keys.

We head back downstairs and convinced the front desk to let security let us in.
So we head back up the stairs, through the long hallway, up the elevator to the twelfth floor, and finally got in.
The agent texted me she would have the right key in three days…

We moved on to see some more properties and come to a townhouse in Victoria Park. It was a small complex with maybe 20 units and a pool.

I entered the gate code and we got into the walled complex. We used a lockbox to see the townhouse since it was vacant.
We go to leave and find that we are locked in the complex. You needed a key to leave (keypad was on the outside) and the complex was walled. How am I going to get this family out???

The complex was small and it was mid-afternoon, so no one was around.
I thought for a minute and then stuck my hand through the gate and was able to reach the keypad! Luckily it was like a telephone keypad and I could figure out where the numbers were even though I could not see the keypad.
It worked and we were able to get out.
Good thing, because I don’t think I could have scaled that wall in a dress and heels.
