Dania Beach was the first city incorporated city into Broward County in 1904. It is on the south side of the Fort Lauderdale Airport, so you can head right to the pier as soon as you get off the plane.

Take a nice walk on the pier, do some fishing or just hang on the beach. If you are hungry, there is a great restaurant called the Quarterdeck at 300 North Beach Road (954-929-1400). You can sit outside on the pier or sit inside, where every view is a water view.
