When people come to South Florida, they think about Fort Lauderdale, or South Beach. Yet, there are plenty of other great places to come check out in South Florida. Hallandale Beach is the southernmost city in Broward County, right next to Miami-Dade County. In addition, it is a beach city, and one of the best things there is Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream has live horse racing throughout the year, a casino, along with restaurants, bars, shopping and so much more.

They have lots of family friendly events going on, as well as bowling, pottery and canvas painting, karaoke, an arcade and live music. You can check out the events here: Events

During the winter holiday season (from November 24-December 31) they have the Symphony of Lights. They have a 50 foot Christmas Tree and countless lights that are synchronized to holiday music. You can see the show every hour.

Horse Racing

Besides the holiday fun, on December 2nd begins the 2017-2018 Championship Meet. It goes for 18 weekends, and it begins with the Claiming Crown races, which has 294 nominations! Stop by this Saturday to see the eight races.

On January 27, Gulfstream will have the Pegasus World Cup, which is the world’s richest race. 2018 will be the second year it is run.

Also, the Florida Derby will be run on March 31.
